The formula
°C = (°F − 32) × 5 ÷ 9. Example: (350 − 32) × 5 ÷ 9 = 176.7 °C. Ovens are set in steps of 5 or 10 degrees, so 175 °C is the usual setting.
The other way round: °F = °C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32.
Fan oven or conventional?
American recipes usually assume a conventional oven without a fan. With a fan (convection) oven, set the temperature about 20 °C (25 °F) lower.
